You've walked the main square. You've had the coffee. You've visited the churches. Cluj-Napoca has plenty of culture — but if you're looking for something that gets your blood pumping and gives you a story worth telling when you get home, this is it. BuggyZone has been running off-road buggy and ATV tours in the hills surrounding Cluj-Napoca since 2009. That's over 15 years of knowing every trail, every viewpoint, and every muddy corner that makes a great adventure.
What Is a Buggy Tour?
A buggy is an open-frame, 4-wheel off-road vehicle — think go-kart meets jeep. It has a steering wheel, pedals, and enough power to tackle steep hills, forest tracks, and muddy terrain with ease. You drive it yourself. No previous experience required — if you can drive a car, you can handle a buggy. Our instructors will walk you through everything in about 10 minutes before you set off.
What the Tour Looks Like
Depending on the package you choose, your tour lasts 1, 2, or 3 hours. You'll ride through forest tracks and dirt roads in the hills above Cluj, open hilltop viewpoints with panoramic views over the city and the Transylvanian landscape, muddy sections (especially in spring and after rain — this is where it gets fun), and quiet valleys and wooded areas you'd never find on a standard sightseeing tour. Your instructor leads the group. You follow, at your own pace, stopping whenever you want for photos or just to take in the view.
Who Is It For?
Everyone. Couples, groups of friends, families with kids, solo travelers, corporate teams. The youngest rider we've had was 4 years old (kids have their own adapted vehicles and separate area). The oldest was well into their 70s and asked to go again. If you're visiting Cluj and want one experience that's different from everything else on offer — this is the one.
